Ministry Update on C. difficile and Public Reporting On May 28th, the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) made an important announcement regarding the public reporting of a variety of patient safety indicators, including Clostridium difficile. The announcement stated that on September 30th, 2008 all Ontario hospitals will be required to publicly report on C. difficile rates in their facilities through a public website. Hospitals will also be required to report specifially on outbreaks such as C. difficile to Public Health Units.
